SCENE 30 - ERADICATING THE PLAGUE

Location: Magnet Hill

Maps: Map 1

This can be one of the hardest parts of the game if you're not prepared. Make sure you have plenty of food and healing items, and full HP and PP before going in. Once you go in it's a pain to get out. An Exit mouse might come in handy. You can get one from southern Onett.

Welcome to the sewers of Fourside, crawling with giant roaches, mice and even ghosts. Be aware that the ghosts can possess you with a Tiny Li'l Ghost, and it's a long way back to the hospital. Try to beat them before they can possess you. If you do get possessed, you'll just have to bear with it for a while.

The best way to get through the sewers is to get down into the muck and keep walking right. Don't worry about the trash cans and doors you will see - you can get them on the way back.

At the very end you will find a Your Sanctuary boss waiting for you. Make sure you're healed up and ready to fight. Use all your strongest attacks, especially PSI Freeze. If you have any Big Bottle Rockets, use them too. You should be able to defeat the boss without much trouble.

Behind the boss you will find a ladder. Climb up it and you will be outside again. Collect the next Sound Stone melody and be sure to open the gift box, which contains the Carrot Key. You can use this to get past the rabbit statues in Dalaam.

On your way back out of the sewers, collect all the items in the trash cans. In particular, make sure you nab the Broken bazooka, which, once Jeff fixes it (he needs IQ 45 to fix it), will be one of your most valuable items. It's located just to the left of where you fought Plague Rat of Doom.
