The first thing you'll notice in the Lost Underworld is that you're only three pixels tall and move at the speed of molasses! It's best to avoid the dinosaurs here for the most part, unless you want experience.
It may be tempting to go after Chomposaurs to win a Magic Fry Pan for Paula, but the Guts boost probably isn't worth the effort. Besides, you can buy her best weapon - the Holy Fry Pan - here.

Another thing you'll notice about this place is that geysers dot the landscape. Occasionally the screen will pause, rumble, and following this a geyser will spout either a red or blue pillar of water. These geysers are really very helpful -- the red ones treat status ailments, while the blue ones heal HP and PP. Always keep a lookout for them, as they are extremely useful.

When you land, you'll be near one of the blue geysers. Head north and you'll pass a 'refuge' location where you can save your game. It's a good idea to do this since there's no telling whether or not you'll run into some nasty dinos on your way to the main Tenda Village location. After you save, continue north and head to the left. You'll come across a large enclosed village.
When you approach the village gate, two Tendas at the entrance will pick up the scent of your Tendakraut. They'll unbar the gates and take it from you, leaving you nothing left to do but walk right in! Talk to the large talking rock in the corner. He'll tell you the purpose and location of each Your Sanctuary. He'll then tell you where the last one - Fire Spring - is. This is your next stop. He'll also heal you, which is a plus.
Next stop is the village store. The "ATM" (a Tenda who charges insane processing fees) is behind the hut in the top left. If you're not happy with his fee, then it's best to teleport somewhere else to get money and then come back. Stock up on all the amenities -- upgraded equipment, defensive items, and the like. After that, it's time to trek to the southwest, to Fire Spring.
As you head that way, you'll come across a cave entrance to your north. It's not mandatory to go here, but if you do you'll find a very strange cave with some funky music. It's worth a look-see if you're bored.
In the northeast area of the Lost Underworld, you'll find the Sea pendant, one of the most valuable items in the game. It protects the wearer from PSI Fire, Freeze AND Flash. Don't miss this one. You'll really need it when you get into the Fire spring cave.
It's probably best to equip Paula with the Sea Pendant at this point, and Jeff with the Flame Pendant.
Another important thing to note here is that as you head south, you'll find a clearing with a gift box. This gift box contains the Cloak of Kings, the last of Poo's equipment. This item seriously boosts his speed.
Continue south until you reach another one of those 'refuges', and save your game. This spot is handy because it's near a blue geyser as well. So heal up! Once you're ready, trek west to the cave entrance to Fire Spring.
