If you left the Pencil Eraser with Paula before she was kidnapped, you can get it from Escargo Express. In fact, Escargo Express will call you as soon as you leave the department store. You don't need to get the Pencil Eraser now, but you'll need it later, so don't forget!

The first place to look around for clues is at Jackie's Cafe in the northwest area of the city. Talk to the locals there. One woman will mention a loud noise outside. You better go out there and check it out.
Everdred is lying on the ground, surrounded by interested (more like nosy) bystanders. The scuzzy guy on the right will demand that you give him something. If you don't have any expendable food, go to the Topolla and buy a Show Ticket. He'll move when you give him something.
When you reach Everdred, he will explain the situation. It seems Monotoli stole the Evil Mani-Mani statue from him and then tried to off him. He instructs you to check behind the counter at the cafe and then saunters off, leaving you with his final tearjerking haiku.
Go behind the counter from where the woman is standing who told you about the noise outside. Stand a step away from Jackie and face up and then Check (press L). If you did it right, a "???" message will come up and then some funky stuff will start happening.
The first thing you'll notice about Moonside is that stuff is backwards. This means that the answers "yes" and "no" are reversed, as the woman in the cafe tells you. Be sure to keep this in mind while you're here.
As soon as you arrive in the weird world of Moonside, you'll be attacked by a little flame that is actually a Robo-Pump. You'll have three turns to scrap it before it tosses a Bomb. Just attack it. Be on the lookout outside for this and other powerful enemies.
The key to getting around Moonside is the "Warp Men", who will send you to different places in the city when you talk to them. Most, but not all, of them look like beach bums. Read on for more info.
The inhabitants of Moonside are hardcore strange, to say the least. A lot of what they say will be incomprehensible, but talk to them anyway. It's fun!
The enemies here are dangerous, especially the Enraged Fire Plug, which can spray a blast of water that causes 60-100 HP of damage to both Ness and Jeff. Use powerful PSI attacks on it. Beware Dali's Clock and the Abstract Art as well; they have powerful attacks. But you'll need to fight to bring your levels up. You should be in the high 30's before you leave.
Make your way to the Monotoli Building in the southern part of town. You'll see a sailor guy blocking the way. TALK TO HIM. He says he wants to see a guy with connected eyebrows and a gold tooth. Keep this in mind.
Start talking to the warp guys. At some point, you'll find yourself being led along from one warp man to the next. Be sure to check out any gift boxes you see, and keep warping around. Eventually, you'll find yourself in a strange, doorless room.
All you'll see at first is a Mr. T guy. He'll tell you to get lost. Look closer and you'll see a shadowy figure moving around. Talk to it, and then to Mr. T again. He'll be so mad he'll kick you out of the room!
You'll appear at the hotel. As you leave, the invisible man you spoke to before will continually talk to you. He'll tell you about his cool connected eyebrows and gold tooth. Now where have you heard that before?
Make your way back to the south, either by walking or talking to one of the Warp Men near the hotel. When you talk to the sailor again, he and the invisible man will take off (for a drink), leaving the path open for you. Monotoli won't hang around for long when you disturb him. He'll take off in quite a hurry, leaving you alone with the Evil Mani-Mani statue. Before you approach the statue, make sure your HP is at full.
Evil Mani-Mani shouldn't give you too much trouble. If you have a Big Bottle Rocket, you can use it to make the battle a quick one. Otherwise, use a barrage of PSI Special and Jeff's physical attacks. Keep your HP over 100 or so.
