If you head to the very top of Podunk's store, you'll find a pet section. The man here will want to sell you a Canary Chick for $85. However, if you refuse his offer, he'll give it to you for free! Take it carefully in your pockets and leave the store.

Track your way back to the path that leads north to Ninten's House. Along the way, you'll find a gap between some trees to the west. Follow this path and you'll make it to an enclosed village.

As you may have noticed, the Crow foes may sometimes steal items right from your Goods menu. However, despite rumors about the matter, the crows cannot steal the Chick from you. If you run out of food items, the Crow will just defend instead of attempt to steal anything, so rest assured that your newfound fledgling will stay on your person at all times.

The residents of this town are all large birds! They're canaries to be exact, and you may have heard about this village from someone in Podunk. While there are many resident avians, none seem to have anything much to say.

However, there is one man living Jane Goodall-style with the canaries. He'll lament about Laura, a specific canary who lost her child. If you happen to have bought/received the chick already, though, he'll perk up and tell you to take it to its mother.

At the very back of town, you'll notice an oddity: One of the handful of large gravestones is pure white. If you step around this, you can squeeze out of a gap in the wall behind it.

Behind the town is Laura, and if you Use the Canary Chick while in front of her, she'll be so overjoyed that she'll break out in song: the second melody to be exact.
